Assam Police of Age Details
Applicants should be of age 50 years or younger as of January 1, 2023, meaning candidates need to have been born on or after January 1, 1973.
Assam Police of Qualification Details
1. Educational Requirement (For all positions): HSLC or its equivalent.
2. Service Qualification –
a. For the positions of Constable & Head Constable – Candidates who have retired with the rank of Sepoy to Havildar in the Army or its equivalent rank in the Navy or Air Force.
b. For the positions of Sub-Inspector & Inspector – Candidates who have retired with the rank of Naib Subedar or higher in the Army or its equivalent rank in the Navy or Air Force.
NB : Please note that Ex-Servicemen who have retired with the rank of Havildar or an equivalent rank, and have completed a minimum of 15 years of service, can choose to apply for the position of Sub-Inspector. However, this option is available for either the Sub-Inspector role or Constable/Head Constable roles, but not for both simultaneously.
2. Service Qualification –
a. For the positions of Constable & Head Constable – Candidates who have retired with the rank of Sepoy to Havildar in the Army or its equivalent rank in the Navy or Air Force.

Assam Police of Physical & Medical Standards
An applicant should be in good health, free from significant chronic illnesses or physical deformities. Normal hearing and eyesight, whether aided by glasses or not, are required. The candidate must hold a SHAPE-1 category status from the Army or an equivalent category from the Navy or Air Force, as indicated in their Discharge book. The chosen candidate will need to present a medical fitness certificate to the appointing authority before assuming the position. It’s important to note that anyone found medically unfit will be disqualified.

Assam Police of Selection Criteria
Candidates will be selected based on the marks obtained in the Oral/Interview process. Priority will be given to individuals with a background in Military Police and Special Forces, those possessing special skills and training, and those under the age of 45.
